Program:
Modules/Workshops
Day 1 – Introduction to Yoga
In this workshop students will have an overview of the 8 techniques which are the components of Yoga. They are Mudra (hand gestures), Puja (energy transfer), Mantra (sounds and ultrasounds), Pranayama (Breathing exercises), Asanas (Postures), Yoganidra (Deep relaxation) and Samyama (Meditation).
Day 2 – Asanas I (Postures)
Asana guidance: this workshop students will be introduced to a sequence of Asanas and understand essential principals that build up a successful yoga teacher.
Asana Sequence, benefits & teaching points: learn key principles about asanas that will make your class run smooth and easy.
Day 3 – Practical skills & Health and Safety in class
In this workshop students will be introduced to important aspects of a yoga teacher career such as health and safety, attitude towards apprentices, inclusivity, teacher/student bullying, dealing with vulnerable adults and learn from Vivian’s 16 years of safe and successful teaching experience.
Day 4 – Mudras
In this workshop students will be introduced to a chart of Mudras, experience them, build Mudra choreographies, and learn their secrets and origins.
Day 5 – Pranayama (Breathing exercises)
In this workshop students will be learning and practicing different breathing exercise techniques and their applicability.
Day 6 – Yoganidra (Deep Relaxation)
In this workshop you will learn scientific groundings that lead into a deep relaxation and Applied Positive psychology and Neuroepigenetic Principles
Day 7 – Samyama (Meditation)
· In this workshop you will learn the principles of meditation and will be introduced to a variety of techniques including Applied Positive Psychology and Neuroepigenetic Principles
Day 8 – Nutrition & epigenetics
Anti-ageing nutrition
In this workshop you will be learning nutrition principles which will boost up your energy levels, improve your resilience and performance and drive you to longevity with life quality.
Day 9 – Yoga Philosophy concepts
In this workshop you will be introduced to the origins of yoga, essential concepts that build the general yoga philosophy and the VCYA specific philosophy.
Revision for Theoretical
In this workshop students will be revising all the theoretical concepts discussed and assessed during the course as preparation to the final Theoretical exam.
Day 10 – Mantras & Sanskrit
Mantras: learn traditional Japas & kirtans from India in Sanskrit.
Sanskrit: In this workshop students will be learning key Sanskrit vocabulary in the context of the provided technique which can be helpful in insights that could unlock hidden secrets of yoga.
Day 11 – Kriya (Purifications) and Puja (Energies)
In this workshop you will learn and practise different Kryia and Puja techniques and their applicability.
Day 12 – Anatomy & Physiology – Bones & Joints
Day 13 – Anatomy & physiology – The Muscular System
Day 14 – Anatomy & Physiology – The Cardiovascular System
